Alabama entered Saturday afternoon without one of its defensive starters and lost another during its rivalry win over Tennessee.
Starting defensive back Terrion Arnold is in concussion protocol after leaving the game in the third quarter, head coach Nick Saban announced. Arnold’s absence was ultimately not a negative factor against the Volunteers as Lousiana-Lafayette transfer Trey Amos filled in well. Saban said Arnold has a “slight concussion” and hopes for Arnold to be cleared for a return in a few days.
Elsewhere, Alabama returned Malachi Moore to its secondary. He made five tackles, including one for a loss. UA also played without one of its starting linebackers, Trezmen Marshall. The Georgia transfer left last week’s game against Arkansas early and practiced this week in a black, non-contact jersey. Marshall went through pregame warmups but did not participate.
