Alabama football will have to find a new defensive coordinator for the 2023 season. Pete Golding, Alabama's defensive coordinator the past five seasons, is leaving for the same position at Ole Miss, according to a reports.
Golding arrived in Tuscaloosa to serve as co-defensive coordinator in 2018 while coaching inside linebackers. Golding became the lone defensive coordinator in 2019 and served in that role through 2022. Off the field, he became known as a strong recruiter for the Crimson Tide.
Golding was Alabama's nominee for the Broyles Award in 2022, given to the nation's top assistant coach.
