A lady is back in the lake at Barber Motorsports Park.
Visitors to Barber Motorsports Park got a surprise this weekend - the return of the fiberglass sculpture of a woman emerging from the water that first appeared there a decade ago.The “Lady in the Lake” was created by artist Mark Cline.
It first appeared in a lake at the Motorsports Park in 2012 but was moved to George Barber’s Elberta property a few years later.The face of the original in Elberta was badly damaged by Hurricane Sally in 2020. Barber sent the damaged pieces of the sculpture to Cline’s studio in Virginia for repair. Cline had kept the mold of the sculpture’s face.An update last month saidA spokesperson for Barber Motorsports Park said the sculpture in Leeds is permanent, but can only be seen by those who come to the park for a ticketed event.Note to readers: if you purchase something through one of our affiliate links we may earn a commission.
