Police in Birmingham, Ala., asked the directors of both bands to stop the music so people would leave the stadium.
BIRMINGHAM, Alabama — A high school band director who ignored requests from police to have the band stop playing at the end of a football game ended up being arrested by an officer who used a Taser to subdue the director, reports say.from the Birmingham Police Department says the incident occurred Thursday after a game between Minor High School and P.D. Jackson-Olin High School.
Police accuse the Minor band’s director of ignoring requests from police and telling the band to continue playing. Officers decided to arrest the director but the news release says a “physical altercation” occurred between the director and police and school district security officers. Police took the director to a hospital for treatment before then taking him to the city’s jail. The director posted bond, but has been charged with disorderly conduct, harassment and resisting arrest.
