Alabama’s Commerce Department will have a presence at next week’s Farnborough International Airshow in the United Kingdom.

Commerce Secretary Greg Canfield and the state’s economic development team, including Bob Smith, Commerce’s assistant director of European strategy, have meetings scheduled with representatives from Boeing, Airbus, GE Aviation, Lockheed Martin, United Launch Alliance, and other companies.At previous European air shows, Alabama officials have been able to advance state-based projects from GE Aviation, GKN Aerospace and other companies. BAE Systems, Carpenter Technology Corp.
Smith said the air show allows Alabama’s representatives to show off the state’s record as an economic partner.
