Education Minister Alan Tudge has given his strongest approval yet for NSW’s plan for international students, but there’s no indication of when it might begin | LisaVisentin

over its draft plan, submitted in June, but the Andrews government has ruled out following NSW’s option of using student accommodation as quarantine facilities.

Indonesian international student Najamuddin Idris has abandoned his planned Masters of Laws at Melbourne University and will instead study relocate to the UK, which is allowing international students into the country. “I also asked my fellow Indonesian students who had already started their study online at Australian universities. Almost all of them deeply regretted their decision. They told me to change my study destination to Europe, Canada or US.”

While Chinese student enrolments have remained largely steady between May 2019 and May 2021, Indian enrolments have declined by around 30 per cent over the same period.
