NRL: The NRL 360 panel discuss the controversy surrounding Adam Reynolds' contract situation and if the Broncos should re-sign him.
Barely a season passes in the NRL without a coach being axed and there are several under pressure at the halfway point of 2025.
Since 2011, clubs have parted ways with head coaches an incredible 50 times at an average of almost four per season. We’re now halfway through Maguire’s first season and the 5-7 Broncos are languishing in 11th having lost six of their past seven games. Maguire is just six months into his three-year deal and 22 of his top 30 are free agents come November 1, while only three are signed beyond 2027.
The Knights are 15th on the ladder and make no mistake, O’Brien is under huge pressure and coaching for his future in the coming months. The Knights have played finals in four of the past five seasons but their attack has capitulated this season to the worst in the competition, averaging just 13.2 points per game.Hasler’s magic dust seems to have worn off.
Hasler won two premierships at Manly in 2008 and 2011, and had another grand final appearance with the Sea Eagles in 2007. At the Bulldogs, he reached grand finals in 2012 and 2014.Further to that, Hasler’s teams played in 12 straight finals series between 2005 and 2016.He will need to soon, according to The Daily Telegraph’s Michael Carayannis.
But the distraction around Lachlan Galvin’s future seems to have taken a serious toll on the joint venture. In 2023, his first season at the club, the Sea Eagles finished 12th. In 2024, they finished seventh and won their elimination final against Canterbury, but were thumped in their semi-final against the Roosters.
