Stormy, unsettled weather continues over the Aleutian Chain and Western Alaska. High pressure is keeping sunshine over Southcentral and Southeast Alaska for much of the rest of the week. Chilly at night and in the mornings with the clear skies though.
Anchorage is seeing a very dry October, says Chief Meteorologist Melissa FreyANCHORAGE, Alaska - Clear skies over much of Southern Alaska may have made for a chilly start to the day, but sunshine did help take off the chill through the day.
Weather has been very dry, and Anchorage has not seen any measurable precipitation since Oct. 4. It has been 27 years since Anchorage has seen such a dry October.High pressure will build out of the Pacific and Canada into the southcentral region. Sunny days will continue in Southeast Alaska as well. Winter weather and high surf advisories are still in effect for the northern coast, expiring Wednesday.
The Aleutian Chain will see the most unsettled and stormy weather in the next several days, with rain and gusty winds. Even so, temperatures will be mild, in fact, getting up to 50 degrees Wednesday in Cold Bay and Unalaska.Copyright 2023 KTUU. All rights reserved.
