Prime Minister Anthony Albanese 's office has been unused since January due to safety concerns posed by continuous protests.
Mr Albanese said the targeting of his office was “appalling” as it blocked constituents from receiving support on social security and immigration matters. According to The Australian, formal advice was given on the apparent partnership between Islamic extremists and political activists who were appearing together on university campuses and across the country in public demonstrations.Furthermore, official advice was given that there was a possibility of coordination between the two groups, sparking security concerns over their ability to mobilise quickly and organise flash protests when Mr Albanese was at a venue.
“We celebrate peaceful protest but criminal behaviour by these anti-Semitic hate protesters should result in arrests and strong penalties.”
