Following public and political criticism, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has expressed his “personal opinion” that the recent synagogue firebombing was a “terrorist attack”.
After previously declaring the firebombing of a synagogue as “antisemitic”, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has revised his position and expressed his “personal opinion” that it qualified as a “terrorist attack”.Following the firebombing, former treasurer Josh Frydenburg called on Mr Albanese to declare the event a terrorist attack.
Opposition Leader Peter Dutton added to criticism of the Prime Minister on Sunday and described the response as “one of the worst things I've ever seen in public life.” Shortly after the Opposition Leader’s criticism, Mr Albanese fronted reporters at a press conference in Perth.“There has been a worrying rise in antisemitism, but we call it out and we call it out consistently,” he said.“There is a technical process that is agreed in the protocols for designating an event as a terrorist act. That meeting is taking place tomorrow.
