Anthony Albanese has flagged major changes for New Zealanders living in Australia, which would make it easer for Kiwis to become citizens and vote in elections.

New Zealanders living in Australia could have an easier pathway to citizenship after Prime Minister Anthony Albanese declared he did not want Kiwis to be"temporary residents forever".

"We don't want people to be temporary residents forever and what we'll do is we'll work on ways of a pathway to citizenship with a timeline of Anzac Day 2023," Mr Albanese said.
