The Prime Minister labelled climate change a 'national security issue' ahead of the upcoming bushfire season and said state and federal governments would 'do what they can' but could not 'defy science'.

The Prime Minister was in Shoalhaven on Tuesday, where intense Black Summer fires ripped through half a million hectares of the state’s south coast in 2019-20.

The Prime Minister said residents, communities and government would work together this fire season to “prepare as best as possible” to mitigate against disasters.
