The Albanese government has appointed a former union figure and Labor minister to a lead role that will help 'seize the opportunities of the net zero transformation'.
Mr Combet was announced on Wednesday by Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and Climate Change and Energy Minister Chris Bowen as chair of the net zero agency.
Mr Combet was also described as having"expertise in government, investment, climate policy and industrial relations, as well as holding qualifications in coal mining engineering". The announcement of the chair and board comes just weeks after the Albanese government unveiled its commitment to legislating a national net zero authority.
