Labor has boosted Australia's humanitarian intake by more than 2,000 places to ensure the nation plays a greater role in responding to the global humanitarian crisis.
Immigration Minister Andrew Giles said the commitment will allow Australia to play a greater role in responding to the global humanitarian crisis, with two million people in need of urgent resettlement and 100 million forcibly displaced.
