The Albanese government has been working with industry and regulators ahead of new digital asset laws expected to be released in 2025.
The Albanese government has thumbed its digital asset and cryptocurrency reforms, to be released in 2025, as ASIC has unveiled new plans for the sector.
The corporate watchdog has also sought feedback on how financial product definitions will apply to cryptocurrencies and other digital assets.“We want to promote the growth of responsible financial innovation while ensuring consumer protection,” ASIC Commissioner Alan Kirkland said on Wednesday. “We know that blockchain and digital assets present big opportunities for our economy, our financial sector and innovation,” said Mr Chalmers and Mr Jones.
