Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and Indigenous Australians Minister Linda Burney have met with American basketball great Shaquille O'Neal as the government seeks to mobilise support for the Voice to Parliament.
Mr O'Neal appeared briefly alongside Mr Albanese and Ms Burney at a press conference in Sydney on Saturday following his meeting with the pair, where he was presented with a South Sydney Rabbitohs jersey and a boomerang.
"We know that Mr O'Neal does a lot of work in the United States about social justice and lifting people up who are marginalised, including through sporting organisations." "And recognising that Australian history didn't begin in 1788, we should be proud of the fact that Australia is the land where we share our great continent and nation with the oldest continuous civilisation on earth." Ms Burney said having Mr O'Neal as part of a campaign"is important", before adding"but it is also extremely important that we build support across the community".

PM announces $75 million post-disaster resilience for flood-affected areasPrime Minister Anthony Albanese has announced areas devastated by the floods earlier this year will receive $75 million in post-disaster resilience delivered by the Emergency Response Fund.
