The Prime Minister was questioned if he would give further military assistance to Ukraine to follow in the footsteps of European nations agreeing to send tanks.
The United States and Germany on Wednesday agreed to send dozens of Leopard 2A6 tanks to the war-torn nation to fight the conflict that is into its 12th month.
The Labor leader was in the Tasmanian town of Latrobe on Friday announcing a program to attract more rural GPs to the state when asked about Ukraine support. Mr Albanese noted the Defence force had recently sent its first group of Australian soldiers to the United Kingdom to train Ukrainian soldiers basic skills.
US President Joe Biden confirmed 31 Abrams tanks will be delivered, but both Washington and Berlin denied their announcements were connected.
