Australia and the United Kingdom will embark on a new climate and energy focused partnership as part of the transition to net zero emissions.

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has revealed details of his climate and energy focused meeting with counterpart Keir Starmer , as Australia and the United Kingdom work to achieve net zero.

The newly created Australia–UK Climate and Energy Partnership is designed to"focus on the development and accelerated deployment of renewable energy technologies". "And there's a real opportunity for us to develop technologies together to make a difference as well as look at co-operation in areas such as climate finance. The new partnership will allow us to explore co-operation right across the board in all of these areas."Mr Albanese also confirmed grants had been awarded to companies through the Australia-UK Renewable Hydrogen Innovation Partnership Program.

The grants awarded to Australian companies range from $446,834 to $2 million, with recipients including Rux Energy and HAMR Energy.
