Aldi crowned as cheapest supermarket in the UK for fifth month running
The budget-friendly store was awarded the title for the fifth month in a row, after the latest Which? price comparison revealed that the average weekly shop would cost the least there.
The most expensive supermarket was Waitrose, with the shopping basket costing £101.17 - over £25 more costly than Aldi. And once again Asda was cheapest at £348.38, followed by Sainsbury’s at £355.65 and Morrisons where it cost £367.12. Top Trending Stories Today Reena Sewraz, Which? money expert, said: "Food prices everywhere have surged lately but, month after month, our research shows there is money to be saved on the basics if you can get to one of the cheaper supermarkets.
