UFC featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski spars Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg ahead of biggest fight of his life
To do that he must upset the odds to dethrone Khabib Nurmagomedov’s protégé, Islam Makhachev, who holds the lightweight title heading into theirpredicts will be record-breaking, Zuckerberg released a video of him and Volkanovski sparring in the metaverse.
The metaverse is a virtual reality space that enables users to interact with each other inside a computer-generated environment.Zuckerberg captioned the clip: “Last year UFC #1 pound-for-pound fighter Alex Volkanovski stopped by Meta HQ to train with me and for fun we tested the limits of our performance avatars with motion capture in our Engage gear. Good luck this weekend Alex!”
The two men wore MMA gloves and motion capture suits as they threw punches, kicks and even wrestled in real life and as animated characters in the metaverse. “Alright, that was fun playing around now let’s actually go for it,” Zuckerberg cheekily said during the spar that ended with Volkanovski tackling him to the floor.
