Alfa Romeo will launch its first EV next year as a twin to the Jeep Avenger, and it could be called the Brennero ⚡
The compact crossover will arrive in June next year. It is expected to use the new STLA Small platform and, like the Avenger, it will offer a range of up to 250 miles.
The model will also be available with a mild-hybrid petrol engine. It’s not yet confirmed if this petrol option will be limited to overseas markets, as is the case with the technically related Avenger. Either way, the Alfa crossover will be offered as a solely electric model when the brand goes EV-only from 2027.
With design inspiration taken from today’s line-up and models from the past – CEO Jean-Philippe Imparato hinted it could get cues from the original Giulietta – the brand’s first EV will play a crucial role in growing sales for the marque, which has yet to see an upturn in European sales post-pandemic .

Used Alfa Romeo 8C Spider [DK1779] for saleThe term '8C' originates from Alfa Romeo models built during the 1930's adopting Vittorio Jano's highly acclaimed eight cylinder engine. Victories at the Targo Florio, Italian Grand Prix and the 24 Hours of Le Mans would cement the 8C into the history books as one of Alfa Romeo's greatest cars desired not only by racing folk, but also Europe's most discerning collectors. Almost one century later the 8C was born again, first unveiled at the 2003 Frankfurt Auto Show. Its design taking inspiration from the famous Alfa race cars from the 50's through 60's, it quickly captivated the car world. The V8 derived from Alfa's Italian cousins Ferrari, was equally as awe inspiring and in the 2011 issue of Evo magazine the 8C Spider won the best sounding car. After the success of the coupe, Alfa Romeo unveiled the 8C Spider was introduced on the concept lawn at Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, 2005. In 2008 they announced that just 500 8C Spiders were to be produced worldwide, with modifications to ensure that it performed equally as well as its coupe counterpart. By strengthening the chassis, relocating the springs/dampers and carbon ceramic brakes resulted in an almost perfect 50/50 weight distribution with a staggering top speed of 180 mph and an equally as impressive 0 - 60 time of 4.5 seconds. This exceptional example is finished in the elegant combination of Bianco Madreperla pearl white over the upgraded 'woven-leather' interior in Nero Hide. The exterior benefits from Nero Brake Calipers situated behind the 20' Grigio Alloy Wheels and PPF paint protection film. Inside the car it is lavished with a carbon dash, centre console and drivers’ zone, passenger side Aluminium foot rest, factory navigation system and iPod connection.
