The Real Estate Institute of Northern Territory southern region delegate says the supply of residential housing is outstripping the demand as people leave town thanks to safety concerns.
The Real Estate Institute of the Northern Territory says there are 285 residential properties on the Alice Springs market.Mr Carey wants the Northern Territory government to provide incentives for people to buy existing homes.

"Previous schemes have been stamp duty exemption or funds towards doing some renovations, which was quite successful." "There were some concerns starting to creep in.
