The SNP has accused Alister Jack of having a "brass neck" after the Scotland Secretary said boasted about blocking laws passed by the Scottish Parliament.
The Tory minister used his speech at the conference to mock the SNP, despite saying that devolution "is about Scotland’s two governments, at Westminster and Holyrood, respecting each other’s roles and working together where we can". He also refused to allow the deposit return scheme to include glass, which resulted in it being delayed until 2025.
"If the Nationalists can’t even organise a bottle Deposit Return Scheme properly, all their talk of removing Scotland from the United Kingdom is pure fantasy. SNP Depute Leader Keith Brown hit back, accusing Jack of "an outright power grab on Scotland’s devolved powers".
