Regional Victoria has also moved into the Second Step of the government’s coronavirus roadmap.Up to five people from two households are able to gather in public and outdoor pools and playgrounds will reopen, while religious services can now proceed outside with a maximum of five attendees as well as a faith leader.
Premier Daniel Andrews has also hinted further restrictions could be scaled back within days as regional Victoria's average case numbers continue to fall. “Regional Victoria will take one step today, and they will potentially, around the middle of the week, reach those thresholds of less than five cases, a 14-day average,” Mr Andrews said over the weekend.
“Every Melburnian should look with hope and positivity to what is happening in regional Victoria as not a theoretical exercise.”
