A major £40 million link road and improvements to several town centres are among planned Nottinghamshire projects now at risk
A major £40 million link road and improvements to several town centres are among planned Nottinghamshire projects now at risk after the Government said it wouldn't fund them. Councils across the county had applied to the second round of the Government's Levelling Up Fund, the results of which were announced last week.
Among the bids not to have been successful was a £20 million one for the ongoing redevelopment of Nottingham's Broad Marsh. Some leaders say they are still committed to delivering their respective projects, but below are all the ones planned in Nottinghamshire now at risk after being snubbed by the Levelling Up Fund.
The road would have served the wider Toton and Chetwynd project, which will see the building of thousands of homes and a new development hub being built in the area. Nottinghamshire County Council leader Ben Bradley has previously said the project will happen "one way or another", saying "it's a matter of when and who pays for it as opposed to whether it happens.
