The Blues' five-eighth has infuriated fans with a controversial social media post which he shared just hours after NSW lost the State of Origin series at Suncorp Stadium.
Queensland ran riot over NSW at Suncorp Stadium on Wednesday night winning 32-6 and securing the series in front of their home fans.
NSW Blues fans have lashed their five-eighth for this social media post which he shared just hours after losing the series. Picture: Instagram “Wouldn’t be boasting about people having to work tomorrow. Don’t forget that those exact same people pay your bills by turning up to games and watching you... well mostly Cleary on TV... much love,” wrote Australian rapper Masked Wolf.
A third added: “Mate, you seriously need to go away after the Origin series finishes to do some personal reflection. Your ego and attitude as a professional sportsman is beyond embarrassing and shouldn’t even be allowed.” Some of the fans suggested the post was an appropriation of a Lebron James quote during the 2011 NBA Finals when he was asked about criticism he was receiving and he said people would still wake up with the same problems and go to work at the same jobs.
