Melburnians will no longer live under a curfew, with the coronavirus restriction to be lifted from 5am on Monday morning as the city's harsh lockdown continues to ease. 9News
enter the second stepThat step means the city's 9pm curfew will be lifted from 5am on Monday, but there will also be new fines in place for unlawful gatherings, with the penalty set to triple from the current $1650 fine to almost $5000.The second step also means that Melburnians will still only have just four reasons to leave home within a five kilometre radius.

If the nominated person lives with other people, that interaction can only happen at their home if those other people are not there at the time.Melburnians will be allowed to leave their home for fishing or golf — as a recreational activity — on their own without a time limit, or within groups of up to five for up to two hours, so long as their destination is within five kilometres of their home.
Permitted visitors include parents, guardians or temporary carers of people aged under 18 without duration limits, or those for someone over 18 for emotional and social support with a limit to just one visitor, nominated visitors with a limit of just a single person for an hour per day, or to visit a dying family member.
