Ben Carter placed a $37,000 bet on the State of Origin days after learning police were investigating him for allegedly defrauding clients of tens of millions of dollars, a court has heard.
Carter and his partner and receptionist Amy Steele, who is accused of concealing his alleged crime.Carter is accused of defrauding clients of $26 million through his firm, Carters Tax Advisory, and other business dealings to fund his high-roller lifestyle.
