Accused Darwin gunman Benjamin Hoffmann appears in Darwin Local Court but delays in evidence mean the case will not move to the Supreme Court until next year.

Accused Darwin gunman Benjamin Glenn Hoffmann has appeared in Darwin Local Court for a mention, but his case on four charges of murder is yet to be moved to the Supreme Court due to delays with the prosecution's case.

Prosecutor Matt Nathan told Local Court Judge Meredith Huntingford the Crown was still waiting on psychiatric and forensic material before the case could proceed for a"preliminary examination", also known as a committal hearing. Jon Tippett QC appeared for Hoffmann, and voiced frustration that his client's case was not progressing to the Supreme Court quickly enough, but accepted the Crown's call to adjourn the matter to January 29, when it will likely be moved to the higher court.
