A driver accused of a hit and run incident that hospitalised a schoolgirl has faced court for the first time.in the Perth suburb of Willetton on June 27.
The 12-year-old girl was rushed to hospital with serious injuries, including a broken leg and collarbone.The alleged driver had her first appearance in court today. It took almost two months to find the alleged driver, but after more than 30 tip-offs to police from the public, investigators arrested 49-year-old Shaheen at the end of August.
She was charged with a number of offences including failing to stop and ensure assistance received, failing to report an incident occasioning death or grievous bodily harm and no authority to drive. Today she appeared in the Armadale Magistrates Court and had her case adjourned for six weeks to seek legal representation.
