Almost 2000 Australians left in housing limbo could be given a lifeline after a Melbourne millionaire entered a late rescue bid for failed building giant Porter Davis.
The building giant made the shock announcement it would enter liquidation and cease all construction work immediately in late March.

Adding to the embattled company's problems, reports emerged of a firebombing attack on an uncompleted home in Melbourne's south-east outskirts on Tuesday morning.
