Ambassador Myroshnychenko said that while the past year was about helping Ukraine defend itself, this year would be about helping Ukraine win.
Speaking to Sky News Australia's Sharri Markson, the ambassador said that while the international community had done a lot to help Ukraine defend itself over the past year, Ukraine now needed help to win the war. For this to be done, it was important there was a plan for"Systematic and consistent" support over the next 12 months.
Ambassador Myroshnychenko said that Australia has a history of punching above its weight in international affairs, and by helping Ukraine defeat Russia we could demonstrate that strength. A year on from the start of the war, the Ukrainian ambassador said he felt angry. But he took heart that Putin had not achieved his objectives.
