An Amber Alert has been issued out of West Jordan for a 7-year-old girl.
WEST JORDAN — A missing 7-year-old girl from West Jordan has been found safe.
An Amber Alert had been issued for Amelia Arredondo on Monday. The alert was canceled about 2:35 p.m., according to West Jordan city leaders. Police had originally reported that Amelia was the victim of a nonfamily abduction about 9:30 a.m. Monday and that the "child's life in danger." Few details about the alleged abduction and Amelia's recovery had been released as of Monday afternoon.
It was not immediately clear whether police were still looking for 56-year-old Bernice Quintana, of West Jordan, who they believe took Amelia, or a silver 2007 Mitsubishi Galant with Utah license plate 8R2MH.
