Amber Heard's lawyers have requested the verdict in the defamation lawsuit filed by Johnny Depp to be scrapped or for a new trial to be set in a twist to the ongoing saga.
The US actress was found guilty of three defamation claims filed by Depp after a six-week court hearing determined statements about her marriage in a 2018 op-ed were"false" and she had acted with"actual malice".
Amber Heard's lawyers have filed a motion to scrap the defamation trial against her ex-husband Johnny Depp. Picture: Getty Images Heard's lawyers also claimed a jury member, known as Juror 15, was not the same person on the venire, or that his identity was not verified, which in turn compromised the process.
"Ms Heard respectfully requests this court to set aside the jury verdict in favour of Mr Depp and against Ms Heard in its entirety, dismiss the complaint, or in the alternative, order a new trial.
