The union said it has reached an in-principal agreement with Ambulance Victoria and the government in the most major step forward in more than 18 months of negotiations. "This deal rewards longer serving ambos, it makes our elite MICA paramedics the highest paid in Australia, it rewards Community Officers for the time they contribute to their community, and most of all it will help our members finish their shift on time and get home to their families," Mr Hill said.
Mr Hill said the new deal also addresses working conditions, which came under the spotlight during negotiationsConcerns over Ms Miller's leadership were highlighted when a paramedic crashed an ambulance after claiming to work a shift lasting more than 18 hours.
