Deakin University’s Dean of Global Futures Professor Joe Siracusa says US Secretary of State Antony Blinken would have been in touch with the International Red Cross about two freed hostages as they are able to work with terrorist organisations.

Hamas released two US hostages Judith Raanan and teenage daughter Natalie, citing ‘humanitarian reasons’.

“The negotiations are going on there and it is more than a goodwill gesture – it is also kind of like propaganda too,” he told Sky News Australia.“Americans would be very excited about this – this comes on top of the President’s speech.”
