'Our wage rise was 2 per cent how do they expect us to keep paying for these ridiculous increases?'

A major internet, phone and TV service provider is set to jack up its prices from April with an increase of over eight per cent in their monthly charges. This has infuriated many customers - some of whom have managed to save more than £1000 a year by switching to other providers.

On social media, angry former customer Margaret O'Gorman said: "Over the past week I've saved about £1,000 a year. How? By switching from Sky to Virgin Media and from Energia to SSE Airtricity."They continued: "Both companies came back offering me better prices if I would stay with them. Inflation my eye! Loyalty? More like price gouging. Make that switch."

"We adjust our prices based on the UK government’s Retail Price Index rate of inflation. RPI measures the rate of inflation by assessing the average change from one year to the next in the prices of a representative sample of goods and services purchased by typical UK households." "Our wage rise was 2 per cent how do they expect us to keep paying for these ridiculous increases?! Called them up and there's nothing they can do and no better packages for us."
