The Andor Honest Trailer has arrived and it just can't get over this is a StarWars show.
After scoring widespread acclaim, the Andor Honest Trailer joins the bandwagon of those in love with the Star Wars show. The latest chapter in Lucasfilm's sci-fi universe acts as a prequel to Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, chronicling the origins of Diego Luna's eponymous character as he goes from a thief to a key player in the Rebel Alliance, including participating on a major heist and a stint in the water-surrounded prison on Narkina 5.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY Fresh off of its season finale, Screen Junkies has set their Honest Trailers sights on Andor, and can't get over that it's a Star Wars show. The video hilariously ponders how the show exists in the same universe as the rest of the Lucasfilm franchise, noting its darker tone, lack of comedy, merchandising, and nostalgia baiting, among other typical Star Wars trademarks, ultimately considering it to be the best show yet.
Andor also took a much more serious approach to depicting the conflict between the Rebel Alliance and Galactic Empire, namely the brutality the latter is willing to inflict on the former in order to maintain their control. This was also seen in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, which is not only where Luna's eponymous character hailed from, but was also co-written by series creator Tony Gilroy, who once again established very real stakes and killed off multiple key players in the show.
Can Andor Season 2 Clear Season 1's High Bar? Though not the comedy series' first glowing review, the Andor Honest Trailer's praise of the Star Wars show does highlight a key concern for it heading into season 2 which is the high bar it has to clear. Given The Mandalorian cleared the high expectations in its sophomore outing following its acclaimed debut, it's not entirely out of the realm of possibility for the series to keep its creative stride.
