To their shame, four provinces have failed to create the required legislation: P.E.I., British Columbia, Alberta and Saskatchewan. Now, while Canada works toward a goal of conserving 30 per cent of lands by 2030, Saskatchewan appears to be actively working against that goal. The province has been in the unpleasant business of selling our provincial lands to private interests and depleting our conservation lands.Article content

Unlike provinces such as Manitoba, Nova Scotia and Ontario, we have no species at risk legislation and no biodiversity legislation. We have no policy initiatives around nature-based solutions for climate change or biodiversity loss.Article content
