Daniel Andrews has reaffirmed his confidence in the public service, despite the inquiry hearing they inadequately informed the premier about the scheme responsible for the second wave. An inquiry into Victoria's quarantine program has singled out three top bureaucrats over major communication failures, labelling the failed scheme a "seeding ground" for COVID-19.
Chris Eccles, Kym Peake and Simon Phemister were accused of inadequately informing Premier Daniel Andrews and key ministers about problems with the scheme responsible for the state's second wave of infections. “I will wait – as we all must – whether we like that or not. We must all wait and see what the findings of the report are,” Mr Andrews said. “The recommendations that may or may not be made. The commentary, the contents of that report will be very important.
