The Hearts midfielder reckons Michael Beale has something to worry about on the horizon.

Andy Halliday reckons Rangers have two reasons to be 'worried' about Celtic - and did nowhere near enough to win the derby.

It was a first Old Firm defeat of the season for Michael Beale and Co, who had already dropped points in the league losing to Kilmarnock, a fate later suffered by their rivals in the Viaplay Cup. But the bragging rights on derby day went to Brendan Rodgers' men who silenced Ibrox when Kyogo lashed in a thunderbolt before the break in the only goal of the game. Hearts man Halliday reckons a few myths need busting after three of Rangers nine new signings started the game on Sunday.

The former Ibrox man believes a relatively weakened Celtic side have a 'guarantee' of improving when key men Cameron Carter-Vickers and Reo Hatate return from injury. But the same can't be said for their rivals in the midfielder's book, as Beale's glut of new arrivals is what the Ibrox side have got to offer.

He told Open Goal: "I don't think Rangers did anywhere near enough to win the game. Both teams will get better no doubt, but there's a guarantee Celtic will get better with the players coming back from injury alone. What we've seen so far from Rangers is what they've got. They need to get better in the style they play.

"Celtic are going to have Carter-Vickers and Hatate back and be better straightaway. I do think it is a worry for Rangers. You've signed nine players in the summer, three of them have started the game, two of them being free transfers while you have spent £13million. Everyone will get better, from what I've seen from Danilo he looks more of a number nine ."
