Manager says club will try to sign new players this monthAnge Postecoglou beleives Tottenham will be “playing with fire” if they do not bring in any new players this month after confirming that their record signing, Dominic Solanke, is likely to be out for six weeks with a knee injury.
“I’m not out there trying to find opportunities for the club, that’s not my role at this time. There isn’t time to do it,” Postecoglou said. “I have daily communication with Johan in particular and he’s trying everything he possibly can to get the help we need. Postecoglou is hoping both Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven return in time for the second leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final against Liverpool on 6 February and admitted that seeing both central defenders on their way back to full fitness had given the rest of his players “a big lift”.
