ARLINGTON, Texas — The Angels had their biggest win of the day long before the final out of their 8-3 victory over the Texas Rangers on Sunday afternoon., the Angels and their fans could exhale.
About 45 minutes later, the team announced the results of the X-rays, and said that Trout was day to day. The Angels are about to begin a three-game series in Houston against the division-favorite Astros, who took three of four last weekend in Anaheim. Since that series, the Angels rebounded by winning five of six games against lesser competition, the Miami Marlins and Rangers. The Angels won the last three games of the four-game series in Texas.
The Rangers made three errors and had a passed ball, which allowed a run to score. Shortstop Marcus Semien also dropped a throw from right fielder Adolis Garcia in the first inning, when they would have had Shohei Ohtani out trying to tag up from first on a fly ball.It all covered up a day in which Angels starter José Suarez wasn’t sharp, allowing three runs in 4-1/3 innings. The Angels also made three other outs on the bases. Marsh was doubled off when he seemed to lose count of the outs.
