Bruised left wrist will keep Rendon sidelined against the Dodgers and through the weekend
The Angels placed third baseman Anthony Rendon on the 10-day injured list on Monday because of a bruised left wrist.Rendon was hit by a pitch on Thursday. He was listed as day to day over the weekend, but Manager Phil Nevin said if Rendon was unable to play by Tuesday, the Angels would need to consider putting him on the injured list.
An injured list placement can only be retroactive three days, so if the Angels would have waited until Tuesday, they would have lost a day. The move is now retroactive to Friday, so Rendon would be eligible to return next Monday, the start of a home series against the Chicago White Sox.The Angels have a few choices for the corresponding move. The infielders they could recall include David Fletcher, Livan Soto, Trey Cabbage and Jake Lamb.
