Bangladesh authorities say operators of a container depot failed to tell firefighters about hydrogen peroxide stored at the site before they doused it with water, setting off an explosive reaction.
Key points:Nine firefighters were killed in the incidentThe giant blast in south-east Bangladesh followed a fire breaking out at the BM Container Depot in Sitakunda, 40 kilometres from the port city of Chittagong, on Saturday night.
The toll from the blast is expected to rise becase more than a dozen of the 300 people injured are in critical condition and officials continue to search for others who are missing, including two more firefighters.
