Shadow Treasurer Angus Taylor caused a storm with his comments on Prime Minister Anthony Albanese’s Ukraine visit during the floods yesterday, according to Sky News Political Editor Andrew Clennell.
Mr Taylor said on the radio Mr Albanese had waited 48 hours before contacting New South Wales Premier Dominic Perrottet to offer flood assistance.
“Anthony Albanese was defended this morning by both his Deputy Richard Marles and New South Wales Premier Dominic Perrottet,” Mr Clennell said. “But he is making sure, I note, that he is visiting the flood zones on Thursday which he will do with the premier.”
