Three people using ropes climbed up the side of the building in Westminster and unfurled a banner in protest against bird flu being spread through chicken sheds.

Animal rights protesters have been arrested after scaling the environment department's head office in London.

Police were called to the Department for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs building in Marsham Street, Westminster, just before 6.30am on Thursday.Protesters were scaling the outside of the building attached to ropes as they unfurled a banner calling for a ban on animal agriculture.
