DNA evidence led to the arrest of Jonathan Lewis Jennings, 32, in 2018 holdups at a liquor store and a convenience store on Jan. 15, 2018, in Meridian.
A federal jury in Mississippi convicted Jennings on two counts of robbery, two counts of using or carrying a firearm in a violent crime and one count of being a felon in possession of a firearm.
Jennings on Tuesday was sentenced to 314 months – more than 26 years – in prison, according to a joint announcement from Southern District of Mississippi U.S. Attorney Darren J. LaMarca and ATF Acting Special Agent in Charge Anthony Spotswood.Assistant U.S. Attorneys Adam T. Stuart and Charles W. Kirkham prosecuted the case.
