Victoria recorded 24 COVID-19 deaths, while there were 12 in Queensland and 10 in NSW.

Victoria recorded 24 fatalities, while there were 10 in New South Wales and 12 in Queensland on Saturday.The number of Victorians in hospital with COVID-19 has risen by five to 250 patients on Saturday.Active cases in the state have dropped below 40,000 to 39,556 cases.The number of positive cases is up by 551 from Friday when 9,466 people tested positive.

Health officials say there are 995 virus patients in NSW hospitals on Saturday. Of these, 45 are in intensive care, and 18 are on ventilators. Queensland recorded 12 fatalities, 4,152 new COVID-19 infections, and there are 276 people hospitalised with the virus.Of those, two are in intensive care, one of whom is ventilated.

Tasmania reported 941 new infections, and 16 people are hospitalised with the virus, eight of whom are being treated specifically for COVID-19.
