P&O Ferries may struggle to resume its cross-Channel services in time for Easter after one of its ships was detained.
P&O Ferries had planned for its Spirit of Britain ship to resume sailing on Good Friday led by its new agency crew, but it has failed a two-day reinspection by the Maritime and Coastguard Agency .
The MCA said the ferries will only be able to sail once they ‘fulfil the requirement of the Port State Control regime and are safe to put to sea’. Three of its ships on the Calais route, including the Pride of Kent, left, and the Pride of Canterbury, right, are currently out of service
